Like all aspiring writer/filmmakers, I grabbed my trusty camera and went out to make some short films. Below are some of the films I've made so far.

CARPOOL

Logline: "CARPOOL is a web series about four co-workers trying to get to work without killing each other. Four people. One car. All nonsense."

I was lucky enough to help produce this web series with my lovely wife, Elana Pisani (the creator and showrunner of the series). I also wrote this episode, "Spoilers," in which the pool does their best not to ruin TV. Easier said than done.

SHIFTER

Logline: "James Striker is on the verge of destroying the oppressive government that has crushed all freedom in the U.S. But before he can take them down, Striker must get past a homicidal drone and an elite squad of EFT soldiers. His only advantage is the SHIFT, a process that allows Striker to transfer his mind into an identical clone body. New body, Same mission: Bring the whole system down."

Written by myself, but directed by Diego Hallivis, this film shows that a great director can make any writer look good. 

DAZE

Logline: "A short film about love, picnics, underaged dating, The Notebook, zany therapists, phone calls with mom, cocaine addiction, birthday cakes at work, buying extra large condoms, and finding yourself. More or less."

Sick of writing, I decided to sit back, direct, and hog all the glory. Instead, funny man Tom Anello handled all the words, and he did an amazing job. DAZE is the story of a man who loses his girlfriend, but finds... well, nothing really, but it's hella funny.

SHARING

Tagline: "Ramon and Jorge have to share their new toy. Oh brother..."

Filmed largely to satisfy my nephews' interests in becoming mega-move stars, SHARING teaches parents and kids one very important lesson: Always buy two of everything.

THE RUNNER

Tagline: "Do you race, or do you run?"

This film was created in 24 hours for the Miami Film Racing Competition, and it features a crew of the best and brightest students of IAFT Miami.

BUTCH DATE

Tagline: "When Carrie's blind date 'Jay' turns out to be a butch lesbian named Jasmine, Carrie learns a surprising truth: Sometimes the perfect man is the perfect woman."

The second short in the pantheon, BUTCH DATE was filmed over two days and cast with friends and ex-girlfriends. It also has everything a good movie needs: drama, conflict, humor, and lesbians! Enjoy!

ONE NIGHT STAND

Logline: "After an alcohol-induced one night stand, one man must overcome some very strange obstacles in order to leave the bedroom without waking up the girl sleeping beside him."

And this is how it begins, with a bang, a whimper, and hours of hard work. Filmed as part of the IAFT Miami Film School program, ONE NIGHT STAND met the key requirements for a first film: One Location, Two Actors, and a Vibrator.
